Clarification on Purchase Event Trigger on Thank You Page

I am using the GTM4WP plugin and I need some clarification regarding the “purchase” event trigger. Specifically, I would like to know if the “purchase” event is triggered every time a user lands on the Thank You page, or only when an order status changes to “processing”?

In my case, I have a payment method where users are redirected to the Thank You page after placing an order, but the order status remains “pending” while the customer receives payment details to complete the transaction later. My concern is that if the user decides to abandon the purchase, the “purchase” event would still be triggered, potentially leading to inaccurate data in our reports.

Could you please clarify how the GTM4WP plugin handles this scenario?
