• Hi there,

I have a website running on Joomla and been thinking of moving to WordPress. There are a few things which I would like to confirm before installing WordPress as I’m a complete n00b.

    1. Is it possible to have multiple side bars where i can have widgets? Also is it possible to have horizontal bars where the widgets appear horizontally one after the other?

    2. I want posts from only a few mentioned categories to appear on the main page and not all posts. Is that possible?

    3. Is it possible to achieve something which looks similar to the website I have on joomla, https://headbangers.in ?

    4. I want to have Facebook connect & phpbb installed. Is it possible to have a central place where people can update their profiles and avatars from?

Hope I haven’t bored anyone with my questions.
Hoping for a response soon ??

    Many thanks.

    Yes.

Not that I’m aware of – although I wouldn’t rule out being able to use something like OpenID.

Thank you very much for your reply. Just one more main thing I forgot to ask….is it possible to import users from my joomla website to this?

There isn’t a pre-built Joomla import function in the vanilla WP install but if you google, you may find some tips.
