    Hello,
I have been using your awesome plugin for a long time.
I have a problem with the classic editor, I often insert PDF with the preview but other times it is useful to insert only the link to download, without showing the preview.
This thing doesn’t work, in fact even if I select insert as attachment, it keeps showing the preview.
    How can I fix it?

    Thank you

  • Hi @woodypad,

The Classic edit > Add Media will automatically insert the PDF as the embedded viewer. If you only want a link to the PDF, there are two options to do this:

    1. Use the WP File block which will insert a text link to the PDF. You can optionally enable the download button as well, or
    2. Add a bit of PHP code to disable the automatic insertion of the shortcode. This will cause your PDFs to be added to the page as a text link by default. To embed a PDF in the viewer, you would need to manually enter the shortcode [pdf-embedder url=”path-to-pdf.pdf”] to initiate the viewer. Hello,
as I said before I am using the Classic Editor so I cannot use the WP File block.
Inputting the manual code makes it difficult for the various editors to use.
Inside “Media” is “Insert as attachment” is there no way to enable this?
    Here is a screenshot:

it would be very useful and easier to use for all publishers.
    Thank you

    Hi @woodypad,

The Attachment page option is a paid feature. Please see:

    Hello,
ok it’s not a problem, but i didn’t understand if it actually does what i ask.

I need to easily let the authors create a simple link, then a text link to the pdf. As well as with WP Files with the block editor. But I need to do it with the classic editor.

In practice with the classic editor I could do it without problems normally, but your plugin inhibits this, and always inserts the schortcode.

    Thank you
