• After upgrading to 6.3, the toolbar for the classic paragraph scrolls off the top of the screen. Can’t get to any of the buttons without scrolling back down. Used to just stay at the top and the content of the paragraph would scroll under it.

Happens with Post and Pattern editing in block editor.

Tried switching to classic editor – apparently not possible with patterns? Switched the Post, and it worked as normal with the toolbar stopping at the top of the page until after the bottom of the paragraph scrolled up as well.

I normally use fullscreen mode with top toolbar, but changing settings doesn’t seem to make any difference.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.
There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

Hey @whichgodsaves – it looks like this was a bug which has been reported, and has a fix in the works.

Is there any status on when this issue will be resolved. I don’t want to have uninstall ALL my plug-ins just to get the Classic scroll bar to work. Right now (or for the past few weeks) it’s be a pain to edit with having to go to the top of the page to change any type of formatting.

The only bar that’s sticking is the block editor and I never use it since it ruins my formatting.

Is anyone at WordPress working on this issue. It doesn’t matter what browser I use it’s still not working.

It’s been months and my classic editor bar is still not scrolling with the text.

Same here. The reference above Classic Editor block: toolbar is no longer sticky when scrolling?#53477 has a longer discussion, some possible solutions, but still nothing in place. I’m spending way to much time in Code Editor mode, since it’s such a pain to scroll up and down. Some formatting just can’t be done yet in block mode.

    Please fix.

I think that one’s closed and refers to Fix support of sticky position in non-iframed post editor?#53540 per:

@t-hamano Please don’t do this. It’s bad enough being in a modal popup in the iFramed editor

    ?stokesman?closed this as?completed?in?#53540?last month

    ………………

anyway, the fix apparent is coming in 6.3.2 for those following this and don’t want to track through the various updats.
