This plugin works well with the theme and the CPT is registered and I can use the customiser with it EXCEPT with the single category pages (and presumably any other taxonomy pages); from reading this forum I gather that the Blog section of the customiser is meant to apply to these pages, but that has no effect, so I am wondering whether there is some code I need to add to my child theme functions to make this happen? Or do I need to do something with the plugin templates? There is a category template in the plugin but I don’t know what I have to edit or add to make it use the settings in the customiser – specifically I want the sidebar to show, but nothing I do in the customiser achieves that. Obviously I want to be able to edit all the other aspects of the category pages as well though, like showing or hiding the Page Title. Even the Scroll To Top setting isn’t working with category pages, when it does everywhere else. Any help greatly appreciated. I will also reach out to the plugin support but I thought best to start here.

  • Hey @awol

Would you mind posting your website’s URL so we can take a better look?

    Thanks

    Hi Eduard,
It’s a test site so probably better that I post some specific urls showing the problem. I am constantly working on it as well.
Here is an example of a problem category page – https://testbed.awolonline.net/listing-category/member-pages/
As you can see, no sidebar. Although the Scroll To Top is working after all.
And here is a perfect single listing page – https://testbed.awolonline.net/rtcl_listing/garden-gazebo/

I have done a lot of css customisations, so it is possible that may be a cause, but I’m pretty sure its not. I hope you will be able to spot the problem. It is designed to be a member site but you can see some of the site without needing to sign up, although you are welcome to if you want!

    Hello @awol

I have managed to replicate this on my own installation and have passed the info down to our development team. We will get back to you asap.

    Thanks

    Hello @awol

I have spoken with the development team and they have informed me that they are going to analyse how the plugin works and hopefully be able to implement a compatibility layer for a future Blocksy release.

    Thanks

Hi @cteduard , Thanks, I am very grateful. Please update me on here when you are able.

@awol We will fix that in the next update but I’d suggest contacting this plugin’s devs.

Issue is, on the category pages of that plugin, both is_single() and is_tax() are true. Blocksy expects only is_tax() to be true to be able to properly detect the options that need to be applied in that context.

Again, we’ve taken care of this edge case for the next update but this isn’t consistent with overall WordPress logic and needs to be taken care of.

@creativethemeshq OK thank you for looking into it, and for the detailed explanation, which I will pass on to the plugin devs. They are quite active in updating so hopefully they will be able to do so reasonably soon.

Just wanted to add, I have just applied the updates to the theme and Companion and thank you very much for the fix – that is awesome support! I really didn’t expect it so quickly.

@creativethemeshq You (and others) might be interested in the topic I started in the plugin support. They either don’t understand the issue or they don’t care, but once again, thank you for your fix and understanding.
