• Hi Everyone,

I am using Classipress 3.4.1 on WordPress 4.2.2 (using the Simply Responsive Child Theme 1342)

My problem is: I am getting an error message (posted below) when importing settings. I will outline the steps I have followed below:

    1. I clicked tools > export All content
    2. I clicked tools > import > WordPress to install wordpress importer plugin, then I imported the xml file that I got from step 1, I then got the screen to Assign Authors, which I left as default as it looked ok, then when I clicked submit, it eventually gave me the errors:

Failed to create new user for admin. Their posts will be attributed to the current user.

That message I got for several of my users.

And this message I get also

Ad “My First Classified Ad!” already exists.

    Several times for different users.

    At the bottom it says

    All done. Have fun!

So what is the deal? Is there a way to get around this, another plugin, or am I just total lost…Please help, I need to get going with a backup.

Thank you all who help! And let me tell you I have tried to be patient, but classipress is just not replying to several of my messages, including this one.

Thanks again in advance for your support WordPress!

    Brian

    Hi,

I have found the problem…I was testing with the Classipress default ad “My First Classified Ad”…I deleted that ad, but it was not officially deleted in wordpress just in the trash folder, so when I tried to restore, the ad already exists according to the importer. So I deleted it out permanently and low and behold, all is good, it imported that ad back in and I seen it, so as they say, seeing is believing. Maybe this will help someone else.
