• I am pleased to announce my first ever plug-in for WordPress, “Clean Archives”. It is a simple plug-in designed to display your archive listings in a clean and uniform fashion. It lists the Month / Year (links to that months archives), the day of the month the article was published, the title of the article (permalink to article), and the number of comments that have been made on each article. It also hides password protected articles from showing up in your archives list.

You can see it in action on my archives page.

  • I got this plugin working in no time at all and it works perfectly. ?? I’m just having one small problem with it, though. I use WordPress to manage not just my blog, but also some other types of writing in separate categories, and I exclude those categories from my index file, search engine, etc. but I can’t seem to exclude them from the Clean Archives list of posts.

Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows!

I also would like to exclude a category from my Clean Archives. Help?

me too… is there any way to make it display only one category instead?

I would too, how do you exclude one category?

Is there a way to have this display private entries (entries that I have set to a higher level using the Post Levels plugin: https://fortes.com/projects/wordpress/postlevels)? Right now those aren’t showing up in the list… I’m not sure if there’s something I can modify in the plugin file, or what. If anyone can help, that would be great!
