• Hello fellow WP users. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong here. I run my websites via GoDaddy and use their automatic install of WordPress. I did a clean manual install myself on numerous occasions, but it’s a lot easier when it’s done for you, am I right? ??

Anyways, for a new install I am doing I needed the WP directory to be in a subfolder and not in the root of the domain. This has caused my undesirable effects.

The website in question is here: LINK

As you can see it shows up unformatted and I am unable to login at wp-login.php

More bizarre yet is when you go to the root directory (https://www.musicfusionfest.com/) and click on “ENTER HERE” it is supposed to take you to subdirectory “/fackin/”, says it does, but the url on top says you are in the root.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks so much!

It’s also more prone to error/issues. Try a manual install instead.

Unfortunately it showed up the same way. I did an automatic install (the one I wrote about in my original post), then manual, then automatic, then manual. Same thing.

    Weird.

Have you checked the urls in Settings -> General? Are there any redirects set up at the hosts’ end?

I can’t get into that esmi. The wp-login.php doesn’t work, nothing shows up when you direct link to it.

You appear to be directing people to https://www.paulhabbott.com/mffwp/fackin/

Minus the f, add an h?

No – a completely different sub-sub-folder. At a guess, I’d say that this WP install has been incorrectly moved after the install.

paulhabbott.com is my primary domain. musicfusionfest.com is hosted under the paulhabbott.com.

musicfusionfest.com redirects (via masking) to paulhabbott.com/mffwp

so when you go to musicfusionfest.com the website has the “enter” button which directs the user to musicfusionfest.com/fackin/ which has the wordpress installed on it.

Is there a subfolder limit on WP?

Ask your web host to review this. (seems something is errant – pointing a record somewhere else)

I did before coming here. They checked my sql and phpmyadmin stuff and cleared then sent me to WP Codex. Thanks GoDaddy! haha
