    Hi all.

I’m trying to install MS on a subdomain with the option set to subdirectories. I’ve done 3 clean installs in a row.

My problem is that each time, the sites come out as https://sub.domain.comDatabaseNameSiteName/

I don’t think I can blame it on my host because I got MS installed fine on my domain.

Unless having MS installed on the domain would somehow conflict with the MS on the subdomain. The subdomain is running a separate WP install of WP from the main domain. I doubt this anyway.

    Might anyone know what’s happening?

I’m hosted on DreamHost. I think Andrea mentioned something about there being a problem with this but I can’t find the right thread at the moment.

  • Yep.

Either do a manual install, not the one-click version, or :

    – open up the wp-config.php file
    – find the line at the bottom that says $base = dbname
    – remove that line & save

Make a new blog/site and it should be fine. the older nonworking ones you can delete or fix. (I’d just delete them.)
