• There are some really awesome themes out there that are legitimately free, however they have sketchy code and links. I have a lot of wordpress sites running on the same server, and I had a malware issue. It was most likely from running an old version of wordpress, but it could have also been from a theme with malicious code embedded in it.

There’s this theme that I really want to use, but I want to make sure it’s clean with no faulty eval/base64 code in it. Can anyone on this forum help me clean it up, or direct me to somewhere that can help?

    Thank you.

  • Are you sure such Theme is actually “free” – i.e. that it is actually distributed under a license that allows you to remove the obfuscated code?

Why not start with a known-good Theme, e.g. from the Theme Repository?

Most of those Themes with obfuscated code are terribly outdated, and terribly coded.
