• Is there a plugin or even a quick service that can identify and clear a wordpress site of ununsed theme code, to make it run faster?

My site is uptown101.com, which focuses on apartments in Uptown Dallas.

    Thank you,
    G

  • Never heard of that – would likely cause major problems. You might want to find a different theme if the one you have is too “bloated.”

Or ask the theme developer for help with this issue – these forums don’t support commercial themes so really can’t offer much to help.

thank you man. I’ve got custom code built into it is the problem. I would switch themes in a heartbeat if I didn’t have that.
But, it would be nice if something could identify the bloat and then clean it out while still keeping them major theme elements.

I’m curious who suggested your theme was bloated in the first instance?

When I check your site load with WebPageTest and Pingdom is seems that the server is taking about 6 seconds to respond. That’s pretty slow. Have you talked about this with your hosts?

Also, as your page size is almost 5mb, it would definitely be worth compressing some of those images, and looking into a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to improve the performance:

You could also try some testing by activating a different theme such as Twenty-Twelve and deactivating all plugins, and then running the site through those two performance website tools. This would highlight if the theme and/or plugin(s) are part of the slow load problem.

Thank you kindly for these thoughts. I’m going to reach out to my hosting.
    I really appreciate your thoughts.

I’m looking at this web page test of my Uptown101 site. Do you have someone that could interpret the report you mentioned above and do some fixes?
This looks amazing, but I’m not technical enough to fix.
    Thank you,
    G
