Hi, I am in the advanced settings of WP Super Cache, and try as I might, I can’t keep the checkbox for “Clear all cache files when a post or page is published or updated” to stay checked. I check it, then select “Update Status”, go somewhere else and comeback, the checkbox is unchecked. I must be missing something simple. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Micah

I just tested this and the setting saved fine for me, so I would guess that something else is conflicting here.

Can you try deactivating other plugins and then saving the setting again?

Thanks Dan, I’ll give that a try.

Just to confirm, I am using the ‘Update Status’ button, there is no global save of settings that I can see, and I am using Simple Cache Delivery method. I thought maybe the problem was I needed to be in ‘Expert’ cache delivery method, but I’ll assume not for now. Thank you.

    Hey there!

I am using the ‘Update Status’ button

Yes. This is the right button (under the Advanced tab, just after the settings).

I thought maybe the problem was I needed to be in ‘Expert’ cache delivery method, but I’ll assume not for now

“Simple” should do for what you’re trying to accomplish.

All the settings you listed seem to be correct – it’s just that they aren’t saving.

I can’t keep the checkbox for “Clear all cache files when a post or page is published or updated” to stay checked

Is it just that setting that doesn’t get saved or does it not work for any of them?

This might be a long shot, but it sounds like there could be some caching that happens in the WP-admin. I’ve seen this happen on hostings like wpengine which cache their queries. If the website is hosted on wpengine, you could check out this page https://wpengine.com/support/wp-engines-object-caching/ to see if disabling object caching fixes the problem. If it’s not hosted on wpengine, check the hosting documentation for object caching or something similar. Again, this is just a shot in the dark.

Hi Pete, thank you. Other advanced settings also don’t ‘stick’ after saving and then refreshing the page.

Your idea about a caching problem sounds worth exploring. Other plugins’ settings are saving okay, but I’ll investigate the link and let you know. Thanks again.
