    Hi there,

in the woocommerce-settings, in the tab “account / privacy policy” (sorry, I have the german Version and I do not know the correct english titels….), there are 3 fields concerning the privacy policy.
The first one is the field where you can chose your privacy policy document.
The other two fields are for individual texts concerning the registry (of the account?) and the checkout page.
In this last field, I wrote a text some days ago. But now I want to clear this field, because I use a plugin for the GDPR Compliance with a Checkbox for the checkout page. And there, the text is included (directly next to the checkbox, great).

Unfortunately, I cannot clear this field with my “old” text in the Settings of woocommerce…. When I delete the text and click on “save”, the text is back again…..

Does anybody know what to do in that case?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Julia,

If the text you’ve entered in WooCommerce >> Settings >> Accounts and Privacy in the Checkout privacy policy field cannot be deleted and re-appears after you save – I’d suspect one of the plugins you’re using is causing this.

On my test site, I was able to clear this field and the text didn’t re-appear after saving so what you’re experiencing isn’t the default behavior.

I’d recommend disabling the plugin you’re using for the GDPR compliance checkbox, removing the text from the field, saving and checking if the text is actually gone.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi,

Thanks for this idea, but it doesn’t work unfortunately…
After clicking on “save changes”, the page reloads and the text appears again….

    Hi there,

Perhaps placing a . symbol would work?

If not – I’d recommend disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and switching to a default theme such as Storefront in order to check if it is possible to save the blank field.

Another thing to try is to switch the site language to English (United States) in Settings temporarily and attempt to save.

    I hope this helps!
