• Hi! It would be nice to have a clear and obvious ability to work with taxonomies in the admin panel. Nowadays there is no mention of taxonomies in the admin panel and many site administrators do not know that there is such a possibility at all.

  • Each taxonomy that is defined follows the parameters passed to register_taxonomy.
    https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/functions/register_taxonomy/
These parameters include ‘show_ui’ and ‘show_in_menu’ and ‘public’ and ‘publicly_queryable’ and ‘show_in_nav_menus’ and ‘show_in_rest’.
The ones with ‘show_ui’ have their own admin page.
The ones with ‘show_in_menu’ have their own link in the admin menu.

Perhaps the taxonomies that have been defined on your site have these options turned off, but by default, taxonomies are mentioned in the admin.

There is very little information about taxonomies on this site. When a newbie makes his site, he does not know about this possibility at all, although it might be useful to him for the site. In which section of the admin panel taxonomies are mentioned ?

When you are in the editor (either one – classic is shown), you can see the taxonomy links in the menu and in the editor sidebar where you choose terms.

The taxonomy page in the admin has a lot of helpful information.

There is a tool to convert between categories and tags.

The standard Post list shows categories and tags, and you can do the same with a custom post type.
