Click image to show large Image just like image gallery does

  • I have set a home page for latest posts, so I can’t use any visual editor so I change the code in index.php and add columns to the left. In this column I added images and now I need one to click the image to show it in large popup just like someone clicks on image gallery.

    It does work when I include image gallery widget in footer and this left column images works fine but I need not to show images in footer, so I remove the widget but then I can’t show image in popup.

    can someone please let me know how to do this in the code?

  • The index.php file is the fallback for any requests that don’t match other template files. If you want to customize the Latest Posts page, it would be better if you make a child theme and copy the index.php file to it, renaming it to home.php.
    Then add a sidebar on the left and put the widget you want there.
