Clickable header bar

Hi. Is it possible to make the complete header bar clickable so the menu opens when I click anywhere in the header? Great would be, if it could react to touch by changing colour (hover) so the user recognizes this area as interactive. And what about opening menu on hover?
I think, on very large screens it is not very obvious, where the menu icon is. E.g. I use 1920 px fullscreen and my site width is only 1100, that looks funny: see here. And if I set the icon far from the right corner (Icon Right Margin like 400 px or so …) that wouldn’t work on smaller screens.
