I have a Knitting Blog and all I need is a way to have thumbnails of my projects within the blog entry with the ability to click and open a new window with a full size shot. I don’t need a gallery at this stage just a way to display my projects…..most of the plugins I have read about are why more fancy than what I need.

    Thanks!

  • That would be built-in with WP 2.0.x.

Use the built-in image uploader (below the post edit screen) to upload a photo.

After it is uploaded, click on it. You’ll get a little menu. On that menu are items that you can toggle.
The top option toggles thumbnail on or off.
The second option toggles if the image is a link to a larger image – and how to display that larger image.

    Does that help?

is there a reason why you cannot do that with plain old html links within your posts, if in fact thats all you need?

    <a href="big-image.gif"><img src="thumbnail.gif" /></a>

all thats necessary for that is using the “link” quicktag.

or do what handy says ??

Ok I will go check out what Handy said I am not very good with HTML but not afraid to run a few tests.

    Thanks for the replies!

PS it would be great if a WP Programmer would add a widgit thingy for a built in gallery for WP<G>
