First off, fantastic plugin. Thank you for all of your efforts.

The clicks are not showing on my website on the “Clicks” page. The Dashboard “Track the Click quick stats” is working though. Though still if I select “More…”, the Clicks page still won’t show any clicks.

I have disabled all plugins and changed the theme. Still no change. Currently running WordPress 5.9.3.

If I look at the Console in Firefox while on the Clicks page, there is a javascript error and a 500 Internal Server Error related to Track the Click.

    Thank you for your time.

I’ve had a look at your site but it looks like Track The Click is disabled (or at least the tracking is from its settings page) at the moment so I can’t really test it. Do you have a staging area or something similar where you could activate the plugin so I could see the problem happening? If so, please could you also disable Autoptimize on that? It makes the code a little harder to read.

pro-tip; you can disable Autoptimize on a per-request basis by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL.

if the problem is not there at that point, some autoptimize (re-)configuration might be needed to fix this. there are troubleshooting tips and info on how to exclude in the AO FAQ.

    hope this helps debugging,

“Local outbound link tracking” is enabled in the Click the Track backend.

DanFoster, will adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL suffice for now with troubleshooting?

    Thanks Frank, that’s really useful.

The only JavaScript error I can see relates to some code you have added through HFCM under <!-- HFCM by 99 Robots - Snippet # 3: Track Outbound Clicks -->

@dom-verde I think the issue you’re having is that you’re not seeing clicks within your website thought Track The Click’s interface within your dashboard. By default, they are excluded. To include them in your report, remove your domain from the Exclude URLs list under the plugin’s Settings -> Other tab. Also reported at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dashboard-report-different-to-more-report/ – clearly we need to do a better job of explaining this within the plugin ??

@danfoster I have removed that outbound link tracking code you mentioned for now but the issue I am having is that the clicks aren’t appearing on the “Clicks” page under “Track the Click” in the WordPress backend. Apologies if I didn’t make that clearer before. On the Clicks page in the backend, I just get a line graph with no clicks – changing settings / dates does nothing. The WP dashboard “Track the Click quick stats” does display the recent clicks in the past 30 days though.

My URL was never in the Exclude URLs setting anyway from install.

The fact clicks are showing in the dashboard widget is great – it means the clicks are being tracked, so the “frontend” of the plugin is working fine.

I can’t see your dashboard and Track The Click’s Clicks page, which makes debugging that for you a bit tricky. Are you able to share what the JavaScript error in the console is? Perhaps even what the 500 error is from your server’s logs? If there’s any information you’d prefer to share privately, you can email me on [email protected]

@danfoster Thanks. I’ve sent an email to you as of now with the Console error and some more information.

This bug has been fixed and will be included in the next release.

Hello, same issue after I installed and discovered this plugin just last week. When will be the next release with the fix?

Aside from that, my internal links are also tracked by the plugin even if I only want outbound links

    Hello,

Thanks for trying out Track The Click.

That release was a while ago – the bug that was happening then has been fixed. Are you running the latest 0.3.2 version? If you’re still seeing something, please confirm that you’re seeing clicks in the dashboard’s quick stats but not through the clicks page of the plugin?

If you only want to see outbound links, you should make sure your site’s URL is listed in the Exclude URLs list under the plugin’s Settings -> Other tab.

Yes, I installed the latest version.

If you’re still seeing something, please confirm that you’re seeing clicks in the dashboard’s quick stats but not through the clicks page of the plugin?
    > Yes, the same issue as discussed in this thread in the past.

If you only want to see outbound links, you should make sure your site’s URL is listed in the Exclude URLs list under the plugin’s Settings -> Other tab.

Please let me know if the dashboard stats include the internal link clicks even if I have excluded them already in the settings.

Please Do Know: My other website worked. But in some particular sites, no. I have several sites as a niche blog publisher. I just discovered this amazing plugin, I hope you can help me fix the issue on some of my sites.

Thanks for the screenshots. Do you have access to your web server’s error logs? Are you seeing any errors show there when you access the clicks page?

Are you referring to WordPress error_log file?
