    Thanks I managed to get it figured it out. They put a website address in the general setting where it says name of website. This was a different URL than the site so when you went to wp-login it took you to wp-login on a different site where there were no files.

    I didn’t even know that could happen but noticed the url changing when i clicked on pages. Then went into the data base and replaced the wrong URL with the correct one and then everything was fine.

    Weirdness…..

    WordPress always redirects to the URL in the database, or in wp-config.php, if you override it there. “Always” has. A security measure, I believe.
