Client ID retrieval failed: Could not validate n

    We have just received this error in the log file:

    2022-01-25T12:47:33+00:00 ERROR Client ID retrieval failed: Could not validate nonce.

    The user is confronted with the following: “Error processing checkout. Please try again.”

    Any idea on the cause/fix for this particular error as I thought the nonce validtion issue was resolved recently?

    Once we create a separate order with a payment link and send it to the customer the payment seems to go through with no problem. After talking to the team it appears this is a regular occurrence. I am assuming the key difference is that the first time the customer is attempting to checkout as a guest, then we make and account and give them a link and it goes through so the common denominator seems to be guests.

    Hi @torlockc,

    The previous nonce validation error that was covered extensively in this forum was related to the user registering an account during the checkout process. This issue has been resolved since though, so it should work fine to create a user while checking out.

    We have seen some isolated reports with the Client ID retrieval failed: Could not validate nonce. error, but so far were unable to reproduce it in any way. Can you actually reproduce the behavior when checking out as a guest on your site?
