Client Side Validation

I have created a custom field used to input names for personalization of a product. When I click on ‘add to cart’ without inputing a name, the client side validation works as it is suppose to.

I then type a name in the field with the client side validation message still showing, click ‘add to cart’ , the validation message goes away but the item is not added to the cart. I have to click the ‘add to cart’ button a second time to be able to add the item to the cart.

I am developing a website using Storefront with woocommerce on localhost.
