cloning wp site issue picture links won't change

I have been cloning sites and uploading all the files in to the public html on hostgator and then going in and changing the database and wp_config file and I get good results. The problem I am having is the permalinks for the pages and posts change to adjust to the new domain name but the photos in the posts still keep their old links and I have to go thru each one individually and change the new link. Is there a way around this in tweaking the data base SQL or something I should do before I upload to hostgator through firezilla?
