  • Hello @vincentllora ??

I am sorry for the trouble you have with our plugin. Can you please check whether the “Show Close Button” is marked as YES? You can find that by going into Section Settings > Divi Areas > Close Button > Show Close Button (Yes or No).

    Regards,

Yes, of course ‘show close button’ is YES and has been enabled since before the update. I made no changes to over 20 popups that had previously been created with the plugin, before they all had the close button and now, without changing anything, all the close buttons are gone.

I’ve even tried deleting the plugin and its data, reinstalling and creating new popups. The close button (though enabled) does not show up, and close by clicking on background does not work (though enabled). With over 20 popups on the site, I really don’t want to have to create alternate close boxes for each of them.

    Hello @vincentllora,

Are you referring to the “COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Relief Program” popup which appears on page load? If yes, I see the close button appearing and is functioning properly.

That is the correct popup, but the close button is not functioning correctly. That is a button that I created because the actual close button does not appear on this popup or any of the popups on the site. You can see this on the About page – it is the same popup, but I have not created the close button for it yet. I was hoping to get a resolve from you guys.

When looking closely at the popup on the home page, I can see a tiny ‘x’ of what looks like a close button at the bottom left, just outside of the box.

    Hello @vincentllora,

It seems like some java script is conflicting. However, I have forwarded your query to our tech lead and will revert back to you next week.

Any word on this? I would really like to have a resolve and not have to make custom close buttons for all my popups

    Hi @vincentllora

Finally, we had the time to have a close look at the source of your page and it appears that some page caching is the culprit here.

I could locate the Close Button – it’s below the bottom left corner of your Popup, but it’s not clickable:

Your page HTML source is compressed/minified and very likely also cached: I found the text "closeButtonClass":"evr-close" in the HTML, but it should be “da-close” since the last plugin update.

I suggest, that you either temporarily disable WP Super Cache and test again. If that works (which I expect), then please re-enable the plugin and test again. It should work now (the cache is re-generated when activating the plugin).

If that does not help, please check for other caching plugins. Maybe your hosting provider also has a caching mechanism that needs to be flushed (premium hosters like WP Engine/WPMU DEV have tools to “Flush All Caches” or “Clear Object Cache”)

Please let us know if that solved the issue, and if yes, if you only use WP Super Cache or other plugins as well; we’d like to add details about this to our Knowledge Base or maybe even catch those cases in the plugin.

    Thanks ?? Philipp
