Close icon not showing and window going off the page

I just tested this plugin. Seems there isn’t anything else that I can find like it so far.
However there are a couple issues that make it unusable for me. The first issue is that the close icon just shows a strange character and not the dashicon it’s supposed to show. Maybe this is due to the page being on https and its directing to https:// instead of just //
The second issue is that the popup window is a fixed size and does not adjust to the size of the screen. If the window is too small it will be cut off making it near impossible to read the entire thing. It would be nice if it would auto adjust to the size of the screen so that it could even be read on a smaller screen such as a mobile device. It would be nice if it adjusted its size if the screen changed size, such as when you rotate the mobile device on its side. Maybe it would have to use some other plugin than thickbox to accomplish these things.
