    Are there any solutions out there that do exactly what the Lightbulb Save-and-Close plugin does, but are maintained, esp for WordPress 5+? I see this question has come up a few times and the only direction has been to that plugin. There is another plugin (Improved Save Button) that renders too many options and is not customizable.

    I would have recommended the same.

    However, Lightbulb Save-and-Close plugin hasn’t been updated for over 8 years. probably nobody is there at this plugin’s dedicated support to respond to your question. But You may try the plugin developer’s website: lightbulbdigital.com.au

    The second plugin you mentioned (Improved Save Button) also hasn’t been updated for about 9 months, but still better than 8 years as in the case of the first plugin! So, try asking there at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/improved-save-button/ and hope someone responds.
