Closing modal jumps page to bottom

How are you closing the dialog? With the X or by clicking on the main page behind?

Sorry, been quite busy over the past few days. Do you have the plugin configured to render usign fancybox or colorbox? Have you tried changing it to use the other library and see if the issue still occurs? I seem to remember this being a fancybox issue. Switching to Colorbox might resolve it.

No worries! It was defaulted to Colorbox. I switched between Fancybox and Colorbox and resulted in the same issue. When logged in on Chrome it seems to work but not for the general public.

Tried in FF, Chrome, and IE.

I have looked more at my own site and closing the dialog there does not jump down in the page. My dialog can only be closed with the X button. I tried pressing it in the latest version of Chrome on Windows and the contents stayed exactly in their place.

Can you give me a link to your site so I can see the problem there?

Unfortunately, no. No one provided any answers or insights for my question on StackExchange and I have not found any reason for this to be happening on your site but not mine. I will give it another look this week-end.

I think I found the problem. Can you download the latest version of the plugin from my new github page:

https://github.com/ylefebvre/modal-dialog

and upload files to your server. You will probably need to delete current version since folder inside zip file has different name than WordPress official distribution.

The fix I made is for colorbox mode. I did not find an equivalent fix for the fancybox version. It resolved the problem for me.

If this works for you, I will upload this as a new version. Thanks for testing on your side.

However, the modal wasn’t popping up in FireFox.

It is coming up for me correctly in FireFox. Are you sure that you did not just reach the maximum number of times to display the dialog in FireFox? Perhaps you can try deleting your cookies in firefox for the site in question and see if it comes up now?
