• This is both a complaint and a recommendation to forum moderators:

Complaint: Moderators are closing topics when issues haven’t been fully resolved.

Recommendation: Don’t close topics! Even if topics are resolved they should not be closed because, other people may still have some good information to add to the post. Perhaps it would be good to add a “resolved” post when a moderator believes the topic has been resolved, but please don’t close it.

If the reason for closing the topic has to do with subscribers not wanting to follow them after it has been resolved, then adding that “resolved” post could be a flag to automatically stop certain types of subscriptions (if the option has been selected).

Note, this just happened to me at another forum too. It’s frustrating because I have good information that might help someone else out in the future that I would like to add, but I can’t without starting another topic. And when that happens, it just makes it more difficult for a user to find the right information as they then have to find two disconnected threads before they get the entire picture… I think this is one reason StackOverFlow does so well, they don’t tend to close topics!

Please just consider it among yourselves…
    Thanks,
    Damian
