Made the mistake of enabling “cloud integration” and the site literally went from lightning fast to the slowest crawl ever, from 99 Gtmetrix score to a 24 score.

Undoing it was ludicrously slow as well, meanwhile the site is crippled for users.

Take that off of your features, horrible.

UPDATE: it also made swiss cheese of my media files. thanks.

    Hi @freq32,

Thank you for trying Optimole and I’m sorry to hear about this issue with the Cloud Library.

It’s not expected behavior for sure as cloud library shouldn’t impact the loading speed of your website, no matter if you use cloud library or not images are still served from the cloud so only during the offloading process there could be that server got slower for some time until it was finished.

If you want us to investigate this problem on your website please contact us via this form https://optimole.com/#contact so we can send our plugin and access your dashboard for further investigation. Thanks!

You don’t need to investigate, I restored the site.

It did cause about 10% of the media library images to be corrupted fyi. It was the offload. I’d put a fair warning on that or create a more fail-safe environment there if I were you.

see the gray missing images here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/aT918DPusrqcNb7Y6

I won’t ever touch that again.

    Hi @freq32,

I’m sorry about this issue once again. Some clients are facing an issue related to offloading with the latest version of the plugin (because of too much server resources used) but in those cases, there is an error during the offload/rollback process and the solution is to switch to version 3.0.1 until our developers fix the issue. (with that version images can be rolled back just fine)

If there was no error in your case when you rolled back the images and some of them were still missing this is an edge case and we haven’t faced it yet, I’m sorry to hear about this inconvenience.
