I had been using Cloudflare (the free plan) for about a year. One day, my site broke. I got redirect loops when trying to reach /wp-admin, 404s on random internal links and on /webmail, and broken images and fonts.

After panicking for about 48 hours and trying everything under the sun, I found that turning off Cloudflare restored the site to normal.

My hosting company tried to figure out the problem, but came up with nothing.

Since then, I worked with Cloudflare support for weeks to try to figure out why that happened. I tried their plugin, and an SSL error fixer plugin (I don’t use SSL, but Cloudflare said try it anyway), sent multiple HAR files of the errors occurring in real time, and the same error just kept happening every time I turned it on. Finally they threw up their hands and said they had no idea what was causing it.

So I today I tried KeyCDN hoping for the best. It broke the site in the EXACT SAME WAY.

I have talked to so many technicians at this point, none of whom could figure this out. Is there anyone who can help me figure out why this is happening? Why do CDNs break my site?

I doubt anyone here can help without seeing your error logs and talking to the hosting companies and Cloudflare, too. It’s far too complex an error to solve here, and it’s obviously not primarily a WordPress issue. Try https://serverfault.com/
