    Hey everyone,

I’ve also contacted the cloudflare support about our issue however no response yet (3 weeks). We’ve a problem with our downloads in our woocommerce store, the digital downloads are being cached/proxied through cloudflare.
The problem is with this that our customers can’t download the files anymore, the download speed is extremly slow for them and most of the files they try to download abort at around 1 GB in to the download.
When we disable the proxy (orange cloud in the dns settings), then the speeds are as they should be and the downloads are completing as they should too.
How can we exclude our downloads from being proxied through cloudflare?

I think it could be acchieved if the downloads are delivered from a subdomain/different url, but I don’t know if this is possible and how to set it up.
    Best wishes
    Dominik

not really, as I’ve asked if the delivery of the downloads could be through a subdomain

    HI @exxis

To address your issue with slow download speeds through Cloudflare, you are correct in your assumption that delivering downloads through a subdomain could potentially solve this problem.

To set this up, you can create a subdomain (e.g., downloads.yourwebsite.com) and configure it in your DNS settings to bypass Cloudflare’s proxy (grey cloud instead of orange). Then, you’ll need to adjust the file paths in WooCommerce to use this new subdomain for digital downloads. This way, your downloads won’t be proxied through Cloudflare, and the download speed should return to normal.

Please note that this approach requires some technical knowledge and understanding of DNS settings. If you need further assistance, we recommend that you seek help from:

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
