    Hi

The Really Simple SSL plugin is active on my site for more than 1 year, But my site got Cloudflare CDN 5,6 months ago and I just noticed that Really Simple SSL was also remain active.

Since Cloudflare provides free SSL to all customers, and I can confirm via ssl checker tool my site is currently using Cloudflare SSL so there’s not any point to use Really Simple SSL.
Another thing is that made my mind to remove plugin is that, my current version is 5.3.5 and there are major changes after version 6+ and even I keep the plugin after updating it to the latest version I don’t know how it will effect my site.

if I deactivate and then delete the Really Simple SSL plugin. Will there be any issue? or what do you suggest?

    Hi @jerry0000,

Really Simple SSL has always been aimed at configuring your site for an SSL certificate which in most cases is provided by the hosting provider or CloudFlare, so nothing has changed in that regard. The plugin handles redirect (CloudFlare compatible), secure cookies, and mixed content.

Really Simple SSL is specifically designed to have a not measurable impact on site performance. This hasn’t changed in the latest versions.

Updating won’t affect your site, but offers several additional security features, like vulnerability detection and security headers detection, and several hardening options for your website, which you might want to check out before you decide.

If you want you can deactivate the plugin. On deactivation, you will be asked if you want to keep https or not. You should choose ‘keep https’ here.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi

If I choose “keep https” it’ll keep the ssl certificate of REALY SIMPLE SSL plugin, right? But it’ll cause conflict/issue with current cloudflare ssl certificate.

And If I choose to keep the plugin I should update it, because currently its version is very old (5.3.5) and current is 7.0.8. Will there be major changes in plugin settings and the way it’s working/configured now? Or any other aspects that need to be checked.

    Regards

    Hi @jerry0000,

If you choose ‘keep https’, the site_url will stay https. There won’t be a conflict between certificates. There is always only one certificate installed.

The upgrade is designed to convert your current settings, so no need for further checks.
