Just noticed that starting Feb 15 all posts on our site are failing the CLS test on Core Web Vitals. I have tried at least half a dozen different things to figure out the problem but so far have come up empty.

Possibly this has something to do with our Neve theme? I noticed there was an update around that time. I tried rolling back all the way to a version before that date and it didn’t seem to change much but sometimes PageSpeed Insights isn’t an exact science.

The page I’ve included is just one example – does anything jump out that could be the cause?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @deanjohnston0950,

Thank you for using Neve theme. The only thing that I see moving when page is loading is text because of font that you’re using which loads with a tiny delay.

You can try to host font locally to see if it helps – https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1349-how-to-load-neve-fonts-locally

Thanks for having a look, I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps. Cheers!

Very easy to do at least. It seems to have made a small difference, putting most pages right at the .1 CLS threshold, some passing, some failing. But they are a bit lower than before. Thanks for the help.

I must have another issue, or at least Google thinks we do, so I’ll keep investigating.
