CLS Issues with image above the fold

  • hi there , i’m a bit of a newbie with wordpress but i am haveing a lot of trouble with CLS caused by my featured image on my post pages.

    With no featured image displayed it scores well on all core vitals, but with featured image on top it scores 0.172 for CLS. If i disable the featured image then CLS drops to 0.045 which is great.

    I have also tried removing the featured image and instead manually placing an image at the top with a fixed width an height but i still got this CLS issue. It seems to be any image above the fold that causes a failed CLS

    Can anyone advise how i can fix this?
