    Hi,

I am using AdRotate now for years on my site. After Google changed the rankings with web vitals I tried to make my website fine for it.

I am using Astra Pro and getting real good results for speed tests. But the CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) results are really bad (0,91, google says up to 0,25 is okay).

So I checked for hours what it could be. Deactivated a lot of plugins and options.

Now I noticed, with help of the astra team, the problem is only on websites I use adrotate ads. For example impressum has CLS of 0.

The problem is mostly on desktop, mobile only a small result (0,17).

In adrotate I set an box size for the groups, cause I read an fixed size could be an issue. All Images I use also have height and width values.

Any Idea whats the problem with the CLS and how to solve?

    Kind Regards
    Ronny

From my understanding CLS is how content moves during and after pageload.
If your ads move content around or load in too slow causing content to move (shift), you should first look at the speed of your adverts.

AdRotate (Pro) does not determine speed or anything it just manages your code.
If that code (for example from Doubleclick or something similar) takes some milliseconds to load and when it finally does the content moves, that’s the problem.

As such, the problem is then not AdRotate, but a too slow advert from your adserver.
Getting adverts that load faster will reduce or fix the issue.
This can be done by preloading certain domains or by getting your adverts elsewhere.

In some cases, if they offer the image and everything, it may help to store the image locally, too. I do that with affiliate adverts on my site, which improves their loading time a 10fold.

    Hi Arnan,

thank you for your reply. Because of your reply I checked it again. You are right. The problem seems to be an other plugin I use.

    Kind Regards
    Ronny
