Hello @greengrovedigital, and sorry for taking so long to answer. I realize you may have moved on to something else, but for completeness’ sake I’m going to give you an answer anyways.
I have neither tested nor used the elementor gallery myself, so I’m not sure exactly how it works, but in general issues with this plugin can arise from one of three things:
- The image is placed somewhere on the page where the plugin doesn’t look for images.
- The image is a background image (does not have to seem like a background, it can still be for technical reasons) which the plugin currently has no way of accessing.
- Something else is using javascript that conflicts with lazysizes.
I’m not sure which one it is, though my guess would be either the first or the last one. From what I can gather, the elementor gallery is powered by a great deal of custom javascript, and it might be possible that this plugin interferes in a way they haven’t anticipated. Without knowing the exact setup, I cannot entirely rule out that the plugin simply does not look for the images at the right place either, though in that case you should not notice any broken images.
Lastly I’m also going to point out that if there’s other images you want to lazy load while ignoring the ones in the gallery (potentially as a temporary fix), this plugin also supports excluding images based on classes. Figuring out the necessary classes can be a bit tricky, so feel free to ask me about this if it’s of interest.
Let me know if you still need help or have more questions, and I can look more into what exactly the error is. In the mean time I’m marking this as resolved.
Best regards,
Patrick Sletvold
