• I set up a test project and the entire process of using this plugin is frustrating, to say the least. The system is clunky, not user-friendly at all, doesn’t send any emails to the client (although it does send a confirmation to the designer). It’s too easy to screw up, there are no messages in the admin saying something like “hey you forgot to do this or that” and even when you click the Send Email link, it doesn’t do anything on the frontend to let you know that it was sent (you just have to check your email to confirm). Very basic stuff, and it’s not there.

Also you can’t simply log in to the admin to add a project, you have to use the frontend, so after all the setup I did, I went to the frontend and had to do it all over again for it to work. Just seems very clunky and messy, as far as coding and functionality are concerned. Not intuitive at all… Too bad, because it would have been worth the Premium upgrade if it was coded better – with the administrator and the client in mind. But this plugin feels more like it was just slapped together by a programmer with no guidance on UI/UX design.

Very sorry you feel that way, we have poured our heart and soul into this plugin over the last 4 years and I’m a developer/designer of over 10 years… Actually that is why this was created, because I was tired of the emailing back and forth to clients.

Everything is responsive and mobile/tablet ready. And you can create designs on the backend you are not forced to use the front end. That was only to make the process faster when creating designs.

From the sounds of it you have a jquery error or something because you should be getting a message after you click the send email button about it being sent. I would be glad to assist you in getting things running smoothly if you would like, we have many very large companies using this plugin with no issues so let me know if I can help, that’s what we are here for ??

Also if you are a coder and think you can contribute something that would make this plugin more friendly we are always open for help and we pay!

You can even go here to see what it should do.
https://www.slickremix.com/testblog/project-board/ Just login as the designer and then go to the post you want to send an email too. It will send you and the client an email on your install. Once you click it you should get a message that says… Thank-you. Your email has been sent.

Using SMTP option is the best way to go so you can ensure your clients are getting the emails if you are noticing a lag in delivery or emails are going into your spam.

Have to agree with the OP.

You seem to be suffering from the same disease as Microsoft; namely, by trying to “oversimplify” things you’ve end up creating an utter mess. I’ve used other well known website builders online and it’s been immediately obvious and an intuitive experience. My first few minutes with WordPress have been exasperating and I’m about to skip it!

Take a leaf out of the Linux paradigm : keep it simple and logical.
