CM TOC – Problems using in sidebar
-
I am trying to figure out why a custom table of contents I created with the CM Table of Contents plugin works properly when displayed at the top of a page but oddly when added to a sidebar.
I purchased CM TOC to add a custom toc to use in the sidebar of certain pages instead of using the main sidebar on those pages.
The sidebar I created using CM Table of Contents looks great when displayed at the top of a page, but when I add it to a sidebar it picks up elements of the standard WordPress navigation widget. By standard elements I mean gray arrows are placed to the left of every line of my custom toc – the same arrows that are at the left of every line of the standard WP navigation widget. These arrows display over the top any circles or boxes, etc., that the custom toc uses to style its links.
Further, in a sidebar, unwanted links are added to my custom toc when it is added to a sidebar. Certain links in the custom toc are duplicated at the bottom of the toc. I created another custom sidebar with a third-party sidebar plugin to see if that made a difference but it did not change anything. Anyone have any idea what might be going on?
