Ok so if it’s WP Engine (which I believe they all were) then I contact them?

It’s possible the host might be able to restore the dns conf file but it might be easier to just check https://securitytrails.com/dns-trails

@atxmatt I’ve tried that already, it doesn’t show CNAME history, just the A, AAAA, MX, NS, SOA and TXT records, so basically everything except for the one thing I need.

WP Engine doesn’t host DNS so they wouldn’t have any historical data but if the CNAME was a wpe install name they should be able to find it.

Like for example, the connection for one site that’s still active is oandgnetwork.wpengine.com and that’s what the CNAME is for the DNS. Hoping support can help but I have to wait for the client to call their support line.
