Co authors dont working with yoast seo

    Couldnt that taxonomy name and slug be different?

    Not easily, as they’ve already been used in yours and many other sites. Changing the slug would require changing data in an upgrade routine.

    What in particular is the issue?

    Your plugin creates a custom taxonomy called “author” that is the same than “author” archive used by wordpress so there is some kind of conflict and collide with these pages.
