    Hey,
I don’t know if there’s anything you can do about it, but my code formatting button doesn’t work very well.
It’s basically all or nothing – either the whole post is formatted as code or none at all. I would like to be able to activate and deactivate code-formatting for single parts within the text, but it always formats the whole post at once.
Do you have the same behavior on your end?

Please make sure there code is separated with line-breaks. The TinyMCE editor recognizes code limits via paragraphs, so if the code is not separated from other text properly it’ll include whole code. You can see the same behavior in WordPress post classic editor. I hope you’ve not removed paragraph (double line break) function from editor.

You can see the original/native wpForo with all functions at wpForo Community:

I tested it on your forum and it behaves the same.
It works if you start with normal text and then add code below, but not the other way around. If you start with code, there is no way to add unformatted text below because the button then removes the code-formatting from the rest as well.

Can you take a look at it on your forum because users should be able to write normal text below the code parts.
I also noticed that this button can’t be toggled like the other formatting buttons. It always applies to the whole text.

    Hi @flizzywp,
You should select the code text then press on code button. If you want to exit from code area in editor you should press Shift+Enter. Ore use the source button, open the HTML code and write after the closing tag.

This is the WordPress editor working behavior, you can see the same in Dashboard > Edit Post screen using the classic editor.

For exiting from Blockquote area you just need to do Double Enter, or the same Shift+Enter like in code case.

Thank you! Shift+Enter indeed works, I am just afraid that my users will not figure this out.
