I am continuously getting the “code: invalid ‘client_id’ or ‘client_secret'” error message.

I found a couple of forum topics that had this same problem. I followed the instructions and when I got to the ‘reset’ portion, I followed through and I got stopped with the same error message but this time only ‘client_id’ showed up as the error.

So now Site Kit won’t load because I can’t get past the ‘Sign in with Google’ button without getting the same error message.

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hi @tito555, thanks for opening a support topic with us. Sorry to hear that the Site Kit reset didn’t work for you. Please could I ask you to share your?Site Health information?and we can investigate this further. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.?Could you also try the following:

    1. Uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin.
    2. Following the troubleshooting steps here to see if you are able to progress further while in troubleshooting mode with just Site Kit active.

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

    Thank you Adam.

I did as you requested. You should have the form with you soon if not by now.

I can only make it to the Google sitekit when I use my Google ID. I get the following error:

    Error: Bad Request

    missing parameter: ‘code’

And that’s it. I don’t believe the problem is with the theme.

@tito555 Thanks for sharing the new error you are seeing. We have seen this problem in the past caused by a?setting in the Brave browser?which is switched on by default causing this error and stopping you from setting up Site Kit.

If you are using the Brave browser then you will need to switch this setting off to complete Site Kit setup. This will also stop you connecting any of the modules within Site Kit if this setting is switched back on.

Please could you confirm if this is the cause and if not then I will be happy to look further into this for you.

    Dear Adam,

Thank you, this was the cause. I switched that setting in Brave and everyone loaded nicely.

Thank you for your guidance and assistance!

    I truly appreciate your help!

    Have a blessed day!
