    Hi,

I have noticed something peculiar. The g-tag script is nowhere to be found in the source code of my page, unless I am logged in my wp-admin in which case it is displayd in the footer as requested in the options. However, tracking seems to be working as I have tested it in the analytics page; when I visit the page from various devices incognito it adds up the visitors OK.

Is this normal? I am also using wp-rocket google analytics caching add on, maybe it is related to that?

    Thanks

I’m not sure what might be happening, but here are a few things to check:

    • Plugin setting “Admin Users” should be unchecked/disabled
    • Clear or reset the cache for your site

Hopefully that helps, let me know how it goes or if any more questions, etc.

    Hi Jeff,

your plugin works fine. I asked the guys at WP Rocket and they explained to me that this is normal. Quoting their answer for future reference.

Yes, it’s normal, because the add-on causes local versions of the files to be created and used instead; see this article for more info about how it works:

    https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/1103-google-tracking-add-on

My analytics functionality seems OK, since I get regular tracking every day. Thanks for the follow up.

    Cheers

PS. No idea what @alimaskun is talking about.
