I have both Booqable and WooCommerce installed on my WordPress website. There should be a way to use WooCommerce and Booqable together, Booqable shares a helppage on this possibility.

I followed the instructions on this page, but the code snippet does not work in the short description / summary. It does work in the large description.

I used both the bèta WooCommerce product editor AND the classic editor. No difference.

The site is under construction now but available for login, which I can provide.

  • Hi @ingerh1979

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are using a third-party plugin Booqable Rental Plugin, however, it is not working as expected on your site.

Since you are using a third-party plugin that we don’t provide support for based on our Support Policy, I recommend that you reach out to the developers of the plugin or post to the proper forum thread for further assistance. They will be better equipped to help you resolve any issues you’re experiencing with the plugin.

All the best and hopefully, the issue will be fixed soon.

    Hi!
Thank you for the reply, but they say the same.

The plugin is installed correctly on the site, but it does not work in the right place. I have seen other websites do it correctly, perhaps older versions.

Why does a code snippet not appear correctly in the short description, while it does in the long discription?

    Hi @ingerh1979

I am sorry to hear that the code snippet is not working as expected in the short description but working in the long description.

Unfortunately, custom coding is not something we can assist with directly. However, I’ll keep this thread open for a bit to see if anyone from the community can lend a hand.

If you have any other questions related to development or custom coding, don’t hesitate to reach out to some of the great resources we have available for support. The WooCommerce community is filled with talented open-source developers, and many of them are active on the channels listed below:

    Hope this helps!

I disabled some plugins (to no avail), changed settings (to no avail), and finally tried some other themes. After I activated twenty seventeen, the shortcode in the product description suddenly worked. I normally use twenty twenty four theme.

It seems to have something to do with this.
I found (somewhat outdated) info in the following topic: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/shortcodes-not-working-193/
But I don’t understand the solution yet. Can anyone help?

    Hello again,

From your description, it seems like the issue might be theme-specific, since the short code worked when you switched to the Twenty Seventeen theme. Some themes might not support certain short codes or might require additional settings for them to function properly.

However, I suggest you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Ensure that your theme is updated to the latest version.
    2. Check if your theme supports the specific shortcode you’re trying to use. You can typically find this information in the theme’s documentation.
    3. Try to disable all plugins, then enable them one by one to see if there’s a conflict between your theme and a specific plugin.

If the issue persists, please provide us with more details about the shortcode you’re using and any error messages you’re seeing. This will help us provide a more accurate solution.

    Cheers!

The thing is, in the WooCommerce Product page, the shortcode is working in the description section, but is NOT working in the short description section.

A webpage that is using te same plugin combination of WordPress AND Booqable, can be found here: https://www.fietsverhuur-drenthe.nl/product/mountainbike-24-inch-maat-xxs/

My website can be found here: https://fietsverhuurfrederiksoord.nl/product/e-bike-cannondale-mavaro/
Especially check out the difference in the short and the longer description section. The shortcode is exactly the same but not both of them are working.

I really hope someone can help me solve this issue, I don’t have the option to hire an expert.

    Hello @ingerh1979,

The thing is, in the WooCommerce Product page, the shortcode is working in the description section, but is NOT working in the short description section.

As mentioned earlier, custom solutions aren’t something we can assist with per our support policy However, I have a feeling the issue you’re encountering might be related to this bug: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/42329.

To verify, could you navigate to the single product template and replace the individual product blocks with the “Classic Template Placeholder” block?

Check out this short screencast guide demonstrating how to do it:

Make sure to save the changes after adding the block, I forgot to include it in the video. :?)

    Hope this helps!

Yes that did it, thank you so much!
Is this a temporary solution? Or will there be a solution for this bug?
I now cannot adjust the template of the single product, I understand?

    Hello @ingerh1979,

At the moment, this is a temporary solution as we work on a permanent fix. I strongly suggest subscribing to the GitHub link to receive any notifications on the updates to the bug.

    Cheers!
