• I have 2.2 installed. When I need to add or edit the code there is NO Code view tab. What happened to it? I did a repair just in case my install was bad, but everything appears to be working OK, I just do not have the Code View Tab. When working with plugins and you need to add code there is no place to add code.

  • Code view where?

The post editor? Users -> Your Profile, top checkbox.

Actually, if you need to add code to your posts… you are better off without those tabs! Just use the plain html editor.

When I go to Write a Page or Post my tabs for switching between Visual and Code are not there.

I went to the Users Tab and made sure the box was checked for using Visual Editor and I still have no tabs about my writing box for the Visual Tab and Code Tab.

I really prefer to have the tabs. It made editing so much easier. Plus working with certain plugins made it easier.

I would just like to have them back. They were there before and they just seem to of dissapeard. I did not change any settings.

I even doubled check to see if I have it checked to display the tabs for the visual editor.

I was just in my Dashboard and made SURE that under

Users-Your Profile box is checked for

Use the visual editor when writing

    Still no tabs are displayed.

When I uncheck it and save then I get tabs for plugins I have installed, still no Visual Tab or Code Tab.

This is both versions of (2.2.2 and 2.2.1) that I have on 2 domains

With it unchecked, you won’t get the wysiwyg and the associated tabs.

With it checked, now disable all your plugins (temporarily).
    Anything change?

Have you cleared your browser’s cache?

Have you ensured that javascript is enabled for your browser?

Have you recently installed/updated any browser extensions that purport to block scripts or ads?

Are you running any sort of local firewall or security suite that could temporarily be disabled?

I understand I won’t get the wysiwyg editor. I was testing.

I just did a search in the forums for “Missing Visual Tab” and seems there are others who are having the same problem. This makes me think that it is not just me. It also seem to be associated with 2.2.1 and 2.2.2
    https://www.ads-software.com/search/Visual+tab+missing?forums=1

With other people reporting same problem would this indicate a code problem in WordPress?

I just finished talking with a friend who used Explored 6 and a different PC. She is experiencing same problem.

I use Explorer 7 on my PC

    Question:
Could the problem stem from different versions of upgraded PHP

For example WordPress was done in PHP 4 and if the web hosts upgrade to PHP 5 would this cause a problem?

I really wish I knew how to fix this problem with the Visual and Code tabs not displaying. It is a bit frustrating in trying to create static pages and needing to add certain elements. My work has come to a stand still because of this problem.
Who do I contact???? Is this a Web Host Problem or a WordPress problem. I do not know what to do to get these options to display so I can continue my work.

I’m having this exact same problem, and it seems like a lot of others are too.

Anyone find a solution yet? I’m on Firefox, I tried the no plugins thing, I double, triple and quadruple checked my profile settings. No love.
