Coldfusion database import to WP

So I have this huge amount of information that exsists within a coldfusion database, and that information needs to get into my WP database as posts. In the end, there will be about 1500 posts +/-. I am just wondering what things I am going to have to look out for as well as how I should have the data exported from the coldfusion to make it as easy and painless as possible. I would like to know what it is that I will have to end up with.
I know this is a big question.
