1. I have read all of the description items under Links Library>Library Configuration and don’t see anything that collapses the links under the categories so you only see the categories unless you click on them. I’m envisioning the category names being a toggle that collapses the links under the category name in and out of view. If all my links were in the system right now there would be 5000+ links but I’m anticipating 50,000 or more before we are anywhere close to being done so collapsing categories is very important for this site. Is there an option for that?
    2. I’ve tried testing several of the options for categories and they don’t seem to work on my list. I’m wondering if it’s because my Links Library is working at the WP root on my site? Since that’s the way it’s working I’m not sure I have “pages” to insert some of the code that is listed, i.e.
      [link-library settings=”1″ categorylistoverride=”28″].

      Thank you!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Sorry for not responding earlier. Life tends to get in the way.

    1. Even if there was a mechanism to collapse categories, it would still die or be VERY slow if you tried to show 50000 links on a single page with collapsed categories, since it would still need to output the HTML code for all of these links. A better approach could be to display the list of categories at the top of the page and use the options to only show one category at a time and use AJAX as the category switching method. That way, the page would only needs to load the links from one category at a time. That being said, if each category is hundreds of links if not more, it might still not be super quick at switching from one category to the next.
    2. All options should work no matter where you place your library on your site. Which specific option does not work, the categorylistoverride option?

    1. Is there a site you can recommend to look at that is working how you are suggesting?
    2. I will go back and try to figure out which options weren’t doing anything and report back.

    TY!

Have you made any progress on getting your library to show better on your site?

I don’t have any examples of sites using the rendering method I mentioned.

I haven’t made any progress yet… It’s a big project with so many moving parts. I work on one part and have to pause other parts… Now we are figuring out that the links in our library at the moment are going to go to a different part of the site and not be in the links library. but we are going to need a different library for other links. And that library is going to be just as big as the first one but it will be different links. I’ll need to have both libraries up and running at the same time. Eventually, the first set will phase out. So I’m going to have to figure out how to have 2 libraries on the site at the same time.
