Collation and spanish

  • I’m having the following problem and I can’t find the source of it…

    I have a website running on spanish. That means that I use special characters such as á é í ó ú and more.

    As an example I have a post title named “Mónica”. When I search for “monica” I get ZERO results althought everything seems to be on utf8_general_ci on MySQL.

    The website is running on Dreamhost so I know that it might be a configuration issue that I just need to change somewhere.

    Any ideas? Or am I wrong that my sample should return any results?
