Collation errors

actually the main post is displayed on Facebook along with the error message. On twitter it cannot be posted because the title of the post ( which also contains the error message ) is larger than 140 char.

so maybe you can help me by specifying where is the correct place in the code to put a trim function to remove this error message because it does not change.

I am getting the same error, but all my tables and the database itself is utf8-general-ci.

With me, i am able to post to facebook with the title and surl variables, but instead of the surl part, i am getting the error
Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '='

I have tried everything and nowhere onsite or server there is the latin1_swedish_ci collation.
