I updated my theme, Twenty Twelve, and the main field changed back to white. Years ago, I had changed it to black (I want all fields on the pages to be a uniform black) by getting into the code and changing the hex color code from #FFFFFF (white) to #000000 (black), but I don’t remember how I did this and I no longer see that code. To be clear, I’m not talking about changing the Background color which I know you can do by going to Appearance > Customize. It’s the center field I want to change.

Also, in trying to fix this, I’ve accidentally got the Pages Index showing up on the right side of the page. I’d like to remove that so the only page navigation will be through the drop down menus at the top.

Can someone tell me how to A) change the color and B) get rid of the page index on the right side?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I went to Appearance > Theme File Editor, but I don’t see

Where did you see it? Do you have a line number I can locate it by?

I’m sorry that I’m not understanding. When I go to my admin page, on the left hand side is the menu column. Are you saying that I should click on “Pages”? If so, once I’m there, what should I click on? I tried clicking on the link you posted, but I got the message:

This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

I’m wondering if the #FFFFFF code you’re seeing is the font color for that particular post [Norcal Noisefest]. I’m trying to change the white color of the area behind it (down the whole page) to black, but I don’t see the hex code for it.

It turns out that on one of the lines of code where I had changed the hex color number from #FFFFFF to #000000, it was correct. However, it didn’t show up as black until a day or two later. I’m not sure why.
