Color Schemes (like in 2016)
-
Following an Udemy tutorial, I “created” a WordPress theme that might not be the best out there, but works for me.
In Admin Panel “Appearance” ==> “Customize” ==> “Colors”, the only control my theme has is a “Background Color” control. I wanted to learn how to add to my theme a “Color Scheme” feature, like the one in the “Twenty Sixteen (2016)” theme.
To learn, in addition to the Codex, I followed a tutorial by ““DBT”” and a tutorial by “CiMedia“. Even following DBT’s tutorial to the letter, I couldn’t make it work. Besides the fact that I really know very little about this, I’m afraid that the DBT tutorial is not up to date, plus they don’t respond to assistance requests. I didn’t like the CiMedia tutorial nor its presentation. Probably not up to date, also.
Since the Codex is too complex for my level, I would very much appreciate if any of you guys could point me to a good tutorial on how to accomplish my goal or a tutorial on how to adapt the 2016 color scheme feature to my theme. Thanks in advance for your guidance.
